Rick Bermudez ID’d as Man Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident at Union and 4th Street
Bakersfield, California (May 23, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday night auto-pedestrian accident that killed a man.
The deadly crash transpired at about 11:50 p.m., on May 20, at the intersection of Union and 4th Street.
As per the police report, William Chavez-Castro, 24, was driving through the intersection when, for unknown reasons, he struck Rick Luis Bermudez,56, of Bakersfield.
Bermudez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Castro was uninjured and was arrested for driving under the influence and driving unlicensed. He was booked into the Kern County Jail.
No further details about the crash were immediately available.
