Rider Killed after SUV, Motorcycle Collides on Highway 1 near Ardath Drive in Cambria
Cambria, California (May 15, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed after an SUV collided with a motorcycle Friday afternoon in Cambria, San Luis Obispo County.
The California Highway Patrol said the deadly accident happened on Highway 1 near Ardath Drive at around 3:20 p.m.
The crash involved a black Jeep SUV and a yellow motorcycle. Details of what led up to the collision at this time are unknown.
Emergency personnel responded to the accident and declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
According to the CHP, the motorcycle and the jeep were removed from the scene.
The road was closed following the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists.
