Leroy Jefferson Jr. ID’d as Man Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Crash On Interstate 5 Freeway Near Grapevine Road
Bakersfield, California (May 4, 2020) – The motorcyclist who was died in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck Saturday evening in Bakersfield has been identified as Leroy Jefferson Jr., 56.
The crash took place shortly before 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, on Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Grapevine Road.
Authorities said Jefferson was riding his motorcycle in the southbound lanes of the freeway when, for unknown reasons, he collided with a semi-truck.
Jefferson was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes of Interstate 5 were closed as crews worked at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
