Rider Seriously Injured in Auburn Bicycle Accident on Foresthill Bridge

Auburn, California (May 17, 2020) – A bicyclist was hospitalized Saturday afternoon following a traffic accident in Auburn, according to authorities.

At around 12:54 p.m. Saturday, May 16, the bicyclist, whose name was not disclosed, collided with a gray Honda sedan on the east end of the Foresthill Bridge.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the bicyclist suffering from severe injuries following the crash. The patient was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. However, the name and current condition of the rider were not available.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

“Far too many bicycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.
