Honda CRV and Dodge Dakota Pickup Truck Involved in Clairemont DUI Car Accident

Clairemont, California (May 6, 2020) – Serious injuries were reported following an alleged DUI crash involving two vehicles in Clairemont just about 7:00 p.m. Monday

A 56-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after her 2018 Honda CRV was sideswiped by a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by a 44-year-old man.

The woman was  reportedly making a left-hand turn from westbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard onto Longford Drive while the Dakota motorist was driving through a red light at the time of the crash.

Officials said the female driver sustained internal bleeding, multiple back fractures, and bowel injuries in the wreck.

The male motorist, who was suspected of having been driving under the influence, suffered minor injuries and both patients were taken to the hospital.

Police later arrested the man on suspicion of DUI.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
