Santa Monica Police Officer Hospitalized after Venice Motorcycle Accident on Main Street near Sunset Avenue
Venice, California (March 20, 2020) – An officer from Santa Monica Police Department was injured Thursday afternoon in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a car in Venice, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at about 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19 on Main Street near Sunset Avenue.
Authorities said the officer was riding his motorcycle on Main Street when a Ford Fusion struck him. The force of the impact caused the bike to slam into a parked Ford Fusion.
The officer sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His name and condition at this time were not immediately disclosed.
No further details about the crash were given.
An investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department is underway.
