42-Year-Old Man Killed in Hesperia Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 15 near Joshua Street
Hesperia, California (March 25, 2020) – A 42-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was crossing the Interstate 15 Freeway in Hesperia early Tuesday morning, according to a local news source.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at around 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 24 on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway, just north of Joshua Street, California Highway Patrol said.
According to the CHP, the man was driving his silver Dodge Intrepid northbound on the Interstate 15 Freeway when, for undetermined reasons, he came to a halt in the center divider.
The man then got out of the vehicle, climbed over a guardrail that separates the north and southbound traffic lanes. He was crossing the southbound lane when a 2008 Toyota Camry struck him in the number 2 lane, the CHP report states.
The man was declared dead at the scene at around 4:11 a.m. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Toyota was only identified as a 27-year-old Apple Valley woman.
