Daisy Figueroa Hospitalized after Madera Ranchos Car Crash on Highway 145 east of Road 38

Madera Ranchos, California (March 1, 2020) – Two people were killed and three others injured after a two-vehicle accident on Saturday morning in Madera Ranchos, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Highway 145 east of Road 38, at about 2:40 a.m., on February 29.

A 2015 Chrysler 300, driven by a 29-year-old man from Hollister, was westbound on Highway 145. The Chrysler moved into the eastbound lane while attempting to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with a 2003 Honda Accord, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Madera, according to the police.

The Chrysler crashed through a barbed-wire fence off the north shoulder of the highway, overturned, came to a stop in a cattle pasture, and then burst into flames while the Honda spun clockwise and stopped, partially blocking the eastbound lane.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Daisy Figueroa, 35, of San Ysidro, a passenger in the Honda was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.

Two other passengers, one in the Honda and the other in the Chrysler were both also taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Alcohol and drugs had not been determined as factors in the crash.

Highway 145 was closed for approximately four hours following the accident.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the Madera area CHP office at 559-675-1025.

According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
