Car Wash Employee Suffers Major Injuries in La Cañada Flintridge Accident on Foothill Boulevard near Briggs Avenue
Los Angeles, California (March 5, 2020) – A car wash employee was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle at a La Cañada Flintridge car wash Wednesday Afternoon in Los Angeles, according to authorities.
The accident happened at around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 in the 2355 block of Foothill Boulevard near Briggs Avenue.
Authorities said the car wash employees were running a customer’s four-door sedan through an automatic car washing machine. One of the workers reportedly entered the vehicle to move it to the drying area when the sedan lurched forward and hit one employee.
The sedan dragged the employee approximately 20 feet through the parking lot and onto Foothill Boulevard before it stopped.
The man sustained major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery. Her name and current condition were not immediately available.
The accident remains under investigation.
A person on foot is no match for a vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death. “Due to the incredibly serious nature of these types of injuries, pedestrian accident cases often require special care in order to help ensure victims receive the full compensation they need for extensive medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation therapy, in-home care, lost past and future earnings, and numerous other economic and non-economic damages”, Said Arin Khodaverdian, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.
Arin noted that pedestrians, in most instances, have the right-of-way when crossing a street or an intersection. According to Arin, to properly investigate a pedestrian crash and prove negligence, enough resources are required. “A skilled attorney has the resources and will help investigate the accident to determine the party at fault,” Arin said
