Alpine Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on SR-67 in Lakeside

37-Year-Old Alpine Woman Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Lakeside Car Accident on State Route 67 near San Vicente Reservoir Monday morning

Lakeside, California (March 23, 2020) – A driver was killed and another was seriously injured Monday morning in a traffic accident involving several vehicles near Foster Truck Trail in Lakeside, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened at about 6:52 a.m. on state Route 67, just north of San Vicente Reservoir.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old Alpine woman was driving a Toyota Yaris northbound on state Route 67 when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle and drifted into the southbound lane where it broadsided a Chevrolet Silverado 3500 pickup hauling a trailer.

After the impact, the Chevrolet 3500 careened onto the northbound side of the road and collided head-on with a Chevrolet HHR station wagon, which was then struck by a Chevrolet 1500 pickup. The Chevrolet 3500 was also hit by a Toyota Prius.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The driver of the HHR suffered major injuries and was transported to UCSD Medical Center in San Diego. The other two drivers and one passenger in one of the vehicles sustained minor injuries, but they did not need transportation to the hospital.

Authorities said all victims were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.

What to Do At the Accident Scene

  5. Gather information about the other drivers involved in the accident. Also, talk to witnesses and get their information.
  6. If possible, take photos of the damage to your car and the surrounding area.
