Aaron Islas Killed in Fillmore Motorcycle Accident at Victoria Avenue and Teal Club Road

Aaron Islas ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at Victoria Avenue and Teal Club Road in Fillmore

Fillmore, California (March 6, 2020) – The motorcyclist who died in a traffic accident that happened Wednesday night in Fillmore has been identified as Aaron Islas, 33, of Ventura.

The fatal crash occurred at around 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Victoria Avenue and Teal Club Road, northwest of the Oxnard Airport.

Authorities said Islas was riding a 2016 Indian Scout northbound on Victoria Avenue when he collided with a southbound 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer that was making a left turn onto Teal Club Road.

Islas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver, a 40-year-old Oxnard man, was unhurt and stopped at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

It remains unclear if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to contact Senior Officer Jose Diaz at 805-385-7749.

“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.

What to Do At the Accident Scene
