Victim Killed in Sacramento Moped Crash on 66th Avenue ID’d as Eddie Avalos
Sacramento, California (March 13, 2020) – Authorities have released the name of the male victim who died following a moped accident in Sacramento at about 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
The accident involved a 2008 Lancer Moped driven by 62-year-old Eddie Felix Avalos exiting a private road and a 2005 Acura MDX operated by a 19-year-old man on 66th Avenue.
The initial report indicated that Avalos entered into the path of the 2005 Acura at the time of the collision. Due to the impact, Avalos was ejected from his moped and landed onto the highway.
Avalos died at an area hospital where he was admitted after the wreck.
The Acura operator stopped after hitting Avalos and cooperated with the law.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
