Woman Killed, Mario Trigueros-Santos Arrested after Novato Pedestrian Crash on Redwood Boulevard at Rush Creek Place
Novato, California (June 9, 2020) – A woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Monday morning in Novato, police said.
The crash happened at about 5:00 a.m., on June 8, on Redwood Boulevard at Rush Creek Place.
As per the police report, the woman was struck by a vehicle. The manner at which the crash transpired is yet to be established.
The female pedestrian was transported to Marin General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Following the accident, the involved driver fled the scene.
After a while, the involved driver, Mario Trigueros-Santos, 48, returned to the scene and told the police he had struck the victim.
Trigueros-Santos was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for several hours due to the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
