1 Killed and 2 Injured in Los Angeles Car Crash on Silver Lake Boulevard
Los Angeles, California (June 18, 2020) - A man was killed and two other people seriously injured when an SUV struck a Vespa-style scooter before crashing into a restaurant on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles.
The fatal collision occurred at around 11 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Silver Lake Boulevard.
A man in his 50 was riding the scooter when his bike was struck by a speeding Ford Explorer.
The impact of the collision caused the Explorer to strike a tree before crashing into the front of the newly reopened L&E Oyster Bar.
The scooter rider was killed in the collision. His identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.
A 72-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man in the Explore were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the accident.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
