Santa Cruz Car Accident on Highway 1 near Wilder Ranch Sends 57-Year-Old Man to Hospital
Santa Cruz, California (June 12, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances that led to the collision of two-vehicles on Highway 1, just south of Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz shortly before 10:30 a.m. June 10.
The accident happened when a 2012 GMC Acadia traveling on Highway 1 drifted into the opposite lane for reasons still under investigation. The GMC Acadia then broadsided a Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by a 57-year-old Santa Cruz man Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded at the crash site and put out the fire that was caused by the collision's impact.
Officials said the Acadia was stolen, and its driver escaped the scene on foot after the mishap.
The man operating the Jeep was hospitalized at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
Meanwhile, the CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice.
Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
