Authorities Identify Pedestrian Killed in Palm Desert Crash at Monterey Avenue and Hovley Lane as Sanford Reed
Palm Desert, California (June 14, 2020) – The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in Palm Desert has been identified as Sanford Reed, 25, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The fatal crash occurred at around 10:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the intersection of Monterey Avenue and Hovley Lane.
Authorities said Reed was struck by a vehicle while he was walking across the intersection in a crosswalk.
Reed was transported to Eisenhower Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The accident remains under investigation.
