18-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after San Jose Car Accident at Mabury Road and Timothy Drive; Timoteo Gomez Arrested
San Jose, California (January 9, 2020) – Timoteo Gomez, 19, of San Jose, was arrested following a traffic accident that injured one person in the area of Mabury Road and Timothy Drive in San Jose Monday evening.
The crash took place at around 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 6 at the intersection of Mabury Road and Timothy Drive.
Authorities said Gomez was driving a silver-colored 2003 Mercedes-Benz in the area when for undetermined reasons, the Mercedes collided with a 2004 Honda Accord.
The Mercedes then slammed into a large business sign. That impact caused it to roll over and came to a stop in the 900 block of Mabury Road.
An 18-year-old woman who was riding as a passenger in the Mercedes sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the Honda, an adult male, was uninjured.
Gomez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital before being booked into Santa Clara County jail.
The accident remains under investigation.
