Victor Magana ID’d as Boy Critically Injured in El Monte Crash at Garvey and Lexington Avenues
El Monte, California (January 21, 2020) – The boy who was critically injured Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in the area of Garvey and Lexington avenues in El Monte has been identified as Victor Magana, 12.
The crash took place at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, January 18 at the intersection of Garvey and Lexington avenues.
As per the report, a Chevy Suburban and Toyota Sienna were involved in the crash. A surveillance video showed that one of the vehicles struck the other. The vehicle that was hit spun out of control and crashed into a curb.
Magana was ejected from their family car upon the impact. He sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital. As of Monday, he remained in stable condition.
Another patient suffered less severe injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
The family’s SUV sustained major damage as a result of the crash.
A GoFundMe page was created to help pay for medical costs.
The driver of the Chevy reportedly fled the scene after the crash. Authorities are still searching for the suspect driver.
