Victor Can ID’d as Man Killed in Highland Pedestrian Accident at Baseline Street and Golondrina Drive

Highland, California (January 8, 2020) – The man who was hit and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening in the area of Baseline Street and Golondrina Drive in Highland has been identified as Victor Manuel Matos Can, 62, of Highland, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly pedestrian accident took place at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, January 5 at the intersection of Baseline Street and Golondrina Drive.

Authorities said Can was struck by a vehicle at the Highland intersection for undetermined reasons.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found Can in the roadway with major injuries. The paramedics gave life-saving measures to Can before taking him to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
