Martha Brandon Killed After 2-Vehicles Crashed on Highway 49 near Joeger Road in Auburn
Auburn, California (January 14, 2020) – 68-year-old Martha Brandon has been identified as the female driver killed in a traffic accident that happened in the area of Auburn on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred on Highway 49 near Joeger Road in Placer County at about 9 a.m. January 10.
The accident began when a Honda Accord driven by Brandon pulled out of a private road turning left onto southbound Highway 49. At the same time, Janice Tate was driving her Kia Sportage SUV northbound on Highway 49 when the Honda pulled out into the roadway. The front of the Kia then slammed into the left side of the Honda.
Due to the impact of the crash, the Kia overturned.
Brandon died at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was admitted after the accident.
Officials said Tate sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for medication.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
