Theresa Saechao ID’d as Woman Killed in Campbell Car Accident on Interstate 880 near Hamilton Avenue
Campbell, California (January 23, 2020) – The Santa Clara County Coroner’s office has identified the woman who was killed last week Friday morning in a wrong-way car crash in Campbell as Theresa Saechao, 30, of San Jose.
At around 3:20 a.m. Friday, January 17, the California Highway Patrol officers received a report of a Honda Accord that was heading southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 880 near Coleman Avenue in San Jose.
A few minutes later, the Accord collided head-on with a Toyota shortly after Interstate 880 turns into Highway 17, near Hamilton Avenue in Campbell. As a result of the collision, the Accord came to rest on the right shoulder of the highway while the Toyota stopped in the center median.
Saechao was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota driver suffered significant injuries, including broken bones and was taken to a hospital.
Authorities said there was an alcohol smell in the Saechao’s Accord, but it still unclear if that was a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
