Thayla Garcia Napa DUI Car Accident on Imola Avenue Maxwell Bridge
Napa, California (January 18, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol has released the name of the Napa Police Department community service officer who was hospitalized after being involved in a suspected DUI car crash in Napa on Friday evening.
The minor injury collision took place on Imola Avenue's Maxwell Bridge at about 7: 00 p.m.
The accident involved a 2016 Ford pickup driver by 26-year-old officer Thayla Garcia and a 2017 Honda Accord operated by 34-year-old Haley Mackenzie Murphy of Napa west on the Avenue.
The Ford pickup, whose rear amber lights were on, was rear-ended by the Honda Accord for unknown reasons.
Garcia was assisting a stranded motorist at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, Garcia sustained minor injuries following the mishap. She was hospitalized at Queen of the Valley Medical Center for medication.
Police arrested Murphy for felony DUI and for driving on a suspended license.
The CHP is investigating to identify the cause of the crash.
