Sgt. Cesar Fuentes Dies after French Camp Accident on Mathews Road near Michael Canlis Boulevard

French Camp, California (January 13, 2020) – Authorities have identified a corrections officer killed after a San Joaquin County motorcycle accident on Sunday night.

32-year-old Sgt. Cesar Fuentes was involved in the Sunday crash that occurred at around 6:15 p.m. on January 12, on Mathews Road near Michael Canlis Boulevard.

As per the CHP officials, Fuentes, an officer at San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department, was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle when he was hit by a pickup truck for reasons still under investigation.

The officer suffered critical injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Officials confirmed that the pickup truck motorist was unharmed in the collision.

No additional details regarding this incident were released.

An investigation is underway.
