Santa Barbara, California (January 12, 2020) – A rider was transported to the hospital after being involved in a traffic collision in Santa Barbara shortly after 2:00 p.m. Saturday, a local news source reported.

The major-injury crash occurred in the area of Highway 154 and Camino Cielo near the top of San Marcos Pass on January 11.

According to Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the collision involved a sedan and a motorcycle that collided near the intersection for undisclosed reasons.

It was not clear whether or not the sedan driver stopped after the collision and rendered aid to the victim.

The motorcyclist sustained moderate to major injuries in the wreck. The patient was attended to by firefighters along with the paramedics and then rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further medication.

Meanwhile, the identity and the current condition of the patient have not yet been released to this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
