Robert Caldwell ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Highway 9 Crash near Heather Heights Road in Saratoga
Saratoga, California (January 22, 2020) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who was killed late Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Saratoga as Robert Caldwell, 31, of Santa Clara.
The fatal motorcycle accident took place at around 4:13 p.m. Saturday, January 18 on Highway 9 near the intersection of Heather Heights Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Caldwell was riding his motorcycle northbound on Highway 9 when for an unknown reason, he drifted across the center divider on a sharp curve and struck a Honda sedan that was heading southbound.
Caldwell then collided with a pickup truck that was traveling behind the sedan. As a result of the collision, Caldwell was ejected from his bike and was hit by the rear wheels of the truck.
Caldwell was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities closed a portion of the roadway for around three hours following the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
