Pimienta Celso ID’d as Landscaper Injured in San Marcos Pedestrian Accident on West Borden Road near Palomar College
San Marcos, California (January 28, 2020) – The landscaper who was injured Monday morning after a vehicle slammed into a parked trailer he was standing next to on the side of the road in San Marcos has been identified as Pimienta Rodriguez Celso, 43.
The collision happened at around 7:15 a.m. Monday, January 27 on West Borden Road near Palomar College.
Authorities said Celso was removing equipment from the trailer alongside West Borden Road when a 16-year-old girl, who was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Borden Road, crashed into the trailer and hit Celso.
Celso was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, including a broken neck, a fractured rib and a scalp laceration.
The driver of the Chevrolet stopped at the scene.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
