1 Hurt in La Mesa Pedestrian Crash on Grossmont Center Drive at Center Drive
La Mesa, California (January 8, 2019) - A person was injured in an auto-pedestrian collision on Tuesday night in La Mesa, according to the La Mesa Police Department.
The crash occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, on Grossmont Center Drive at Center Drive.
According to investigators, a 41-year-old Poway resident was driving a 2004 Nissan SUV and struck a man who was attempting to cross Grossmont Center Drive at Center Drive. The victim was in a crosswalk but was crossing the road against a red light.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with a fractured hip and a compound fracture to his lower right leg.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Police are investigating the incident.
