The major-injury crash took place at about 9:36 p.m. at Cottage Way and Trimble Way in Sacramento.

The CHP said a Volkswagen Jetta hit a pedestrian at the intersection for undisclosed reasons.

The victim sustained serious injuries in the wreck. The unidentified patient was rushed to a local hospital by paramedics for medication.
