1 Killed in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident on Highway 280 near Cesar Chavez On-Ramp
San Francisco, California (January 19, 2020) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in San Francisco Saturday night, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash happened at about 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18 on Highway 280 near Cesar Chavez on-ramp.
According to the CHP report, the pedestrian was struck by a white Toyota Highlander while they were walking on the far left lane of southbound Interstate Highway 280 near the on-ramp from Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
The pedestrian, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, died as a result of the crash. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
The Highlander driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
As of 9:00 p.m., all lanes of southbound I-280 at Cesar Chavez were shut down as a result of the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
