Sacramento, California (January 16, 2020) – A teenage girl was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night in Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash took place just before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15 on Business 80 at Watt Avenue.

According to the CHP, the young girl was attempting to help another juvenile to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle.

The girl, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene. She had come from the nearby Children’s Receiving Home off Auburn Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
