Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Amtrak Train in San Leandro

1 Killed in San Leandro Pedestrian Accident at Davis and Alvarado Streets

San Leandro, California (January 14, 2020) – According to a local news source, a pedestrian died after being hit by an Amtrak train in San Leandro Monday evening.

The deadly crash took place just before 6:45 p.m. Monday, January 13 near Davis and Alvarado streets.

According to officials, the pedestrian was trespassing on the tracks when they were hit by Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor train No. 546 that was traveling northbound.

The pedestrian, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, was declared deceased the scene.

The train was stopped north of Hayward due to the the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
