Nicole Dobbins ID’d as Woman Killed in Yucca Valley Motorcycle Crash at Twentynine Palms Highway and Prescott Avenue
Yucca Valley, California (January 26, 2020) – The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office has identified the woman who was killed Wednesday night in a traffic accident in Yucca Valley as Nicole Dobbins, 33, of Yucca Valley.
The deadly crash happened at around 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, January 15 at the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Prescott Avenue.
Authorities said Dobbins was driving her Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Twentynine Palms Highway approaching Prescott Avenue. At the same time, Rocio Diaz, 52, of Yucca Valley, was driving a moving truck eastbound on the highway.
Diaz never saw the motorcycle and tried to turn left onto Prescott Avenue, directly into the path of the bike.
Dobbins took evasive action in an attempt to avoid the collision but was hit by the moving truck.
Dobbins sustained serious injuries and was transported to Hi-Desert Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries at around 12:26 a.m. Thursday, January 16.
Diaz stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station at (760) 366-4175.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
