Rider Dies Following Fatal Saratoga Motorcycle Accident on Highway 9 near Heather Heights Road

Santa Clara County, California (January 19, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon in a collision with a car in Santa Clara County near the Santa Cruz County line, authorities said.

The fatal motorcycle accident took place at around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, January 18, near the intersection of Highway 9 and Heather Heights Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle collided with a red Toyota for an unknown reason near the intersection.

First responders arrived at the scene and they found the motorcyclist laying down in the roadway. Authorities said one person died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

No other details about the crash were given.

The accident remains under investigation.
