Michael Keyser Killed in Fatal Apple Valley Truck Accident on 15 Freeway near Hodge Road

Apple Valley, California (January 23, 2020) – The Good Samaritan who was killed alongside another motorist in a fiery traffic accident involving two semi-trucks in Apple Valley early Sunday morning has been identified.

Michael Robert Keyser, 49, of Hesperia died in the fatal crash that happened at about 4:15 a.m. Sunday, January 19 on 15 Freeway, just south of Hodge Road.

As per the CHP, a semi-truck overturned on the right shoulder of the freeway. A second semi-truck reportedly slammed into the overturned semi. As a result of the collision, both vehicles caught fire. Keyser was caught up in the crash after he stopped to help the driver of the first semi truck.

Both Keyser and the first truck driver were killed in the accident.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found both cabs of the trucks completely destroyed. The firefighters upgraded to call a hazmat team because there were pallets of cigarette lighters.

The trailer of the overturned semi was empty.

One patient was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center in unknown condition. A second person declined treatment. No other details about the crash were given.

The accident remains under investigation.

According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
