At Least 1 Hurt in Berkeley Crash on 80 Freeway and University Avenue
Berkeley, California (January 25, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Berkeley multi-car collision that happened on Friday night in Berkeley.
The crash occurred on eastbound 80 Freeway, just adjacent to University Avenue on-ramp at around 11:30 p.m. January 24.
According to the California Highway Patrol, three cars were involved in the collision. One party was lying in the slow lane after the accident.
Responding emergency crews along with medical personnel rendered aid to at least one person who suffered serious injuries due to the crash. The wounded party’s name and their current condition were not immediately provided.
The vehicles were towed away from the crash site.
Authorities closed lane 3 and 4 as a result of the collision. All lanes were opened as of 12:19 a.m.
No other information concerning this collision was released.
An investigation is ongoing.
