Jacob Titus Severely Injured in Truck Crash on Highway 99 and Evans Reimer Road in Butte County

Butte County, California (January 11, 2020) – The teenager who was seriously injured Sunday morning in a traffic accident at an intersection in Butte County has been identified as Jacob Titus, 18, of Butte County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place at around 7:00 a.m. Sunday, January 5 on Highway 99 and Evans Reimer Road.

The CHP said Titus was driving a green Subaru Outback westbound on Evans Reimer Road approaching Highway 99 when for an unknown reason, his Subaru was broadsided by a big rig that was heading northbound on Highway 99.

Titus sustained multiple fractures, a head trauma, a torn artery to his heart and a collapsed lung. He was transported to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where he underwent a heart and several brain surgeries.

A GoFundMe has been established to help cover Titus’s medical expenses.

Authorities said fog may have contributed to the accident.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
