Infant Hurt, Eric Vargas Arrested in DUI Irwindale Crash on Live Oak Avenue near 605 Freeway
Irwindale, California (January 21, 2020) – 28-year-old Eric Vargas of Baldwin Park was arrested for DUI after a traffic collision that left a baby with minor wounds on Sunday evening in Irwindale, according to authorities.
The collision happened a while before 8:40 p.m. on January 19, on Live Oak Avenue near southbound Interstate 605 Freeway on-ramp.
As per the CHP officials, a car driven by Vargas was traveling at a high rate of speed along Live Oak Avenue when it collided with two other vehicles.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to attend to an infant with minor injuries as a result of the crash. The baby was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Vargas suffered minor injuries and was treated and cleared. He was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
The incident remains under investigation.
