Diana Tonche ID’d as Woman Struck, Killed by Bus at E Street and MacKay Drive in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, California (January 12, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who was struck and killed by a transit bus Friday evening in the area of S. E Street and MacKay Drive in San Bernardino as Diana Tonche, 54, of San Bernardino.

The deadly pedestrian accident took place at around 5:56 p.m. Friday, January 10 at the intersection of S. E Street and MacKay Drive.

Police said Tonche was walking in the bus lane on S. E Street when she was hit by an OmniTrans sbX bus that was heading northbound.

Tonche was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries at about 6:38 p.m.

The driver and passengers on the bus were not injured in the crash. Authorities believed that the driver was not impaired at the time of the accident.

The San Bernardino Police Department is investigating the accident.
