David Fletcher Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Crash on Coffee Road near Gosford Road
Bakersfield, California (January 4, 2020) – David Fletcher has succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Tuesday evening in southwest Bakersfield, according to the authorities.
The collision took place at around 5:35 p.m. December 31, in the 200 block of Coffee Road, north of the intersection of Gosford Road and Stockdale Highway
According to the authorities, a white SUV driven by 40-year-old Trumonikia Fields-Johnson was traveling northbound on Coffee Road when Fields-Johnson made an unsafe lane change and collided with Fletcher, who was riding a motorcycle.
Fields-Johnson reportedly left the scene after crash. She was located at a nearby restaurant hiding. She was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license.
Fletcher was transported to Kern Medical with a major head injury. Authorities said Fletcher succumbed to his injuries on Friday afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation.
