Darren Wilhite Hospitalized after Nevada City Truck Crash on Highway 20 near White Cloud Campground
Nevada City, California (January 29, 2020) - Darren Wilhite, 51, of Live Oak, has been identified as the person who was injured Monday afternoon in a traffic accident involving a pair of big rigs in Nevada City.
The crash took place at around 1:40 p.m. Monday, January 27 on Highway 20 near White Cloud Campground.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Christopher Banks, 45, was driving a semi-trailer eastbound on Highway 20 and was coming around a sharp corner when the tail end of his semi-trailer crossed the double yellow line and struck a big rig that was traveling westbound, driven by Wilhite.
The force of the impact sent Banks’ truck to the shoulder while Wilhite’s truck went down a cliff and crashed into several trees.
Wilhite suffered several broken ribs and was complaining of chest pain. He was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center and was discharged Monday evening.
Banks was uninjured.
About 150 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into a creek and a hazmat crew was dispatched to the scene to clean up.
The accident remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
