Brooke Smith ID’d as Woman Killed in Oakland Car Accident on Grand Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard
Oakland, California (January 22, 2020) – The woman who was killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Oakland has been identified as Brooke Smith, 42.
The deadly crash took place at around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, January 19 at the intersection of Grand Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Smith was driving eastbound on MacArthur Boulevard when for an unknown reason, her 2002 Subaru Outback was struck by a 2014 Audi A4 that was heading southbound on Grand Avenue.
Smith was transported to Highland Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Audi fled the scene after the accident. Police are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
No other details were immediately given.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
