Robert James Arrested after Fatal Manteca Bicycle Crash on South Main Street
Manteca, California (January 6, 2020) - A driver was arrested following a hit-and-run collision that led to the death of a bicyclist on Sunday night in Manteca.
Police said the incident happened in the 1100 block of South Main Street at around 11:15 p.m. January 5.
Police were notified of a fatal crash involving a hit-and-run driver. Police and medics responded to the incident and attempted life-saving measures on the bicyclist.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.
The suspected hit-and-run driver was later located and arrested by the police. The driver, Robert James, 36, was taken into custody on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, and DUI.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
