Man Killed in Stockton Bicycle Accident on West Charter Way near San Joaquin River Bridge

Stockton, California (January 3, 2020) – A bicyclist died after being struck by two vehicles Thursday morning in Stockton, a local news source reported.

The fatal bicycle accident took place at around 4:50 a.m. Thursday, January 2 on Highway 4 near the San Joaquin River Bridge. Highway 4 is also known as Charter Way.

According to the local news report, an unidentified man was riding a bicycle on west Charter Way when for as of yet to be determined reasons, he was struck by a vehicle. That driver stopped at the scene.

The bicyclist was then hit by a second vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

The man, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene

The accident remains under investigation.
