Bicyclist Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle on Port Chicago Highway in Concord

Concord, California (January 17, 2020) – According to officials, a bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle in Concord Friday morning.

The deadly accident took place at about 6:21 a.m. on Port Chicago Highway, just south of state Highway 4 near Panoramic Drive.

Authorities said a 54-year-old woman was riding a bicycle on Port Chicago Highway when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Vallejo man.

The woman, whose name not been disclosed pending family notification, was killed in the crash.

The driver involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.

The crash caused the closure of Port Chicago Highway north of Panoramic Drive for an hour and a half.
