Barbara Knass Killed in Rancho Cucamonga Car Accident at Wilson Avenue and San Sevaine Road
Rancho Cucamonga, California (January 14, 2020) – The woman who died in a two-vehicle crash that happened Sunday evening in the area of Wilson Avenue and San Sevaine Road in Rancho Cucamonga has been identified as Barbara Knass, 86, of Rancho Cucamonga, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division.
The fatal accident happened at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday, January 12 at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and San Sevaine Road.
According to authorities, a white 2018 Nissan Sentra, driven by Knass, was traveling westbound on Wilson Avenue while a 2011 Nissan 300ZX was heading eastbound on the same road.
The Sentra began to turn left onto San Sevaine Road and traveled into the pathway of the 300ZX. The 300ZX slammed into the passenger’s side of the Sentra.
The force of the impact caused the Sentra to overturn.
Knass was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:32 p.m.
The man driving the 300ZX was transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
