Adela Garcia ID’d as Woman Killed in Highway 43 Crash at Interstate 5 in Buttonwillow

Buttonwillow, California (January 14, 2020) – The woman who died in a traffic accident that happened early this month in Buttonwillow has been identified as Adela Aguilar Garcia, 57, of Salinas, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash took place at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 2 on Highway 43 at Interstate 5.

Authorities said an SUV collided with another vehicle for an unknown reason on the highway.

Garcia, who was riding as a passenger in the SUV, sustained major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries on January 8.

Two other people suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The names of the patients and their current condition remained undisclosed.

The accident remains under investigation.
