Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Mira Mesa Collision on Mira Mesa Boulevard near Alderman Avenue
Mira Mesa, California (January 24, 2020) - An 86-year-old man died in an accident where he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Mira Mesa Boulevard in Mira Mesa Thursday night, San Diego police said.
The deadly collision occurred near Alderman Avenue just before 8 p.m. January 23.
According to police, the elderly pedestrian was crossing the road against a red light when he was hit by a Lexus SUV.
The unidentified victim succumbed to his injures at the scene.
Police said the 52-year-old driver of the Lexus stayed at the scene. Alcohol was not suspected to be involved in the incident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
