Four Teens Sustain Major Injuries in Bakersfield Car Accident on Highway 178 near Union Avenue
Bakersfield, California (January 21, 2020) – Four teens were seriously injured Monday morning in a traffic accident in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Highway 178, just west of Union Avenue Monday, January 20.
The CHP said a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling westbound on Highway 178 when it was sideswiped by a Honda sedan that was trying to make a lane change. The impact caused the Chevrolet to drift off the roadway into an embankment where it slammed into a tree.
All four juveniles in the Chevrolet were taken to Kern Medical Hospital with major injuries. According to the CHP, one teenage girl was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
The Honda driver reportedly fled the scene after the crash.
No other details about the accident were given.
The accident remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
