3 Killed, 3 Others Hurt in Temescal Car Crash on Temescal Canyon Road and Trilogy Parkway
Temescal Valley, California (January 20, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left three teenage boys dead and three other teens hurt on Sunday night in the area of Temescal Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at around 10:28 p.m. on January 19, at the Temescal Canyon Road and Trilogy Parkway intersection.
Authorities said a Toyota Prius crashed into a tree, just off the 15 Freeway near the Glen Ivy Hot Springs entrance. All the six teenagers were in the Prius which has only five seat belts. It was unclear if the seat belts were used.
Responding emergency crews along with medics found three persons pinned inside the vehicle while the three others were outside the car. The pinned persons were rescued and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
One person was declared dead at the crash site while two other parties succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The other three patients suffered injuries of moderate degree.
Officials said a second vehicle, a white Infinity, was involved in the crash. The driver of the car fled the scene after the collision. Police, through the help of a witness who followed the suspect car after the collision, later located the Infinity. The car was parked outside a nearby home with front-end damage. Police later arrested the Infinity driver.
It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
Authorities closed Temescal Canyon Road between Trilogy Parkway and Squaw Mountain Road to give way to an on-scene investigation.
The incident remains under investigation.
According to Arin Khodaverdian, the Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, a separate investigation by an experienced attorney is necessary so as clearly uncover the circumstances surrounding the collision. “An attorney will also help the victim to navigate all the legal processes in pursuit of fair compensation and justice. Car accident claims are rarely straightforward, and, regardless of the circumstances involved, liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim. It is crucial, therefore, that you have an experienced attorney on your side,” said Arin.
