3 Hospitalized after Irwindale Car Accident on Azusa Canyon Road near Los Angeles Street
Irwindale, California (January 17, 2020) – Three people were injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Irwindale, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15 on Azusa Canyon Road near Los Angeles Street.
As per the report, a Toyota Camry and another vehicle collided on Azusa Canyon Road. The force of the impact sent the Toyota onto the railroad tracks.
The Toyota was blocking the tracks as a Metrolink train was approaching. Good Samaritans rushed to the stuck vehicle and pulled out a female driver.
The train, bound for Los Angeles, was approaching Baldwin Park station when the train engineer saw the Toyota on the tracks and was able to stop the train from hitting the stuck vehicle.
The woman and two people in the second car were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
